Colin Jost, known for his work as a co-anchor on "Saturday Night Live's" Weekend Update, was the featured host for the 2024 White House Correspondents' Dinner. Jost brought his signature blend of sharp humor and satirical insight to the event, delivering a performance that combined political commentary with comedic flair. His role as host continued the tradition of using humor to engage with political and media figures, making for an evening that balanced entertainment with reflections on the current state of politics and journalism.

At the 2024 White House Correspondents' Dinner, Colin Jost humorously acknowledged the crucial role of journalists with his quip: “Journalists, you’re the real heroes. You’re out there reporting the truth while the rest of us are scrolling through cat videos. If I had to choose between breaking news and a cat playing the piano, well, I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t a tough call.” This joke not only highlighted the importance of the media but also provided a playful contrast between the serious work of news reporting and the light-hearted distractions of modern life.
