Tunnel to Towers 20 Year Anniversary Coin
In 2021, the Tunnel to Towers Foundation undertook several significant initiatives and programs to honor the 20th anniversary of the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. To mark this milestone, the foundation also introduced a special challenge coin, celebrating their mission and the philanthropic support that fuels it.
Tunnel to Towers 20 Year Anniversary Challenge Coin
The commemorative challenge coin was created in two finishes. One side adorns the Tunnel to Towers Foundation logo with Red White and Blue borders and decorations. The revers side has the Foundation slogan 'Let Us Do Good' among the NYC former skyline with the world trade center towers. The writing among the sky reads '20 years of doing good'. The 9/11 slogan 'Never Forget' appears across the bottom of the coin with the date of the attacks - September 11, 2001.
20th Anniversary Events
The foundation organized various events to commemorate the 20th anniversary of 9/11, honoring the lives lost and the heroes who responded to the attacks. These events included the annual Tunnel to Towers 5K Run & Walk in New York City, which retraces Stephen Siller's final steps from the Brooklyn Battery Tunnel to the World Trade Center.
Fallen First Responder Home Program
In 2021, the foundation intensified its efforts to support the families of fallen first responders. They provided mortgage-free homes to the families of first responders who died in the line of duty, ensuring these families had the financial stability they needed during difficult times.
Smart Home Program:
The foundation continued to build custom-designed smart homes for catastrophically injured veterans and first responders. These homes are tailored to the specific needs of the individuals, featuring advanced technology to aid in their daily living and enhance their independence.
Gold Star Family Home Program:
This program, which supports the families of fallen military service members, was another focus in 2021. The foundation provided mortgage-free homes to Gold Star families, recognizing their sacrifice and offering them a stable and supportive environment.
Special Campaigns and Fundraisers
To mark the 20th anniversary of 9/11, Tunnel to Towers launched several fundraising campaigns and initiatives to raise awareness and funds for their programs. These efforts helped to expand their reach and impact, allowing them to assist more families and individuals in need.
