The gold fringe and five stars add a sense of distinction, representing the collaborative efforts of all branches of the military. When you see this flag, it’s a reminder of the commitment to safeguarding the nation and the immense responsibility carried by those who serve in this role.

Kashyap Patel Chief of Staff to the Secretary of Defense Challenge Coin

Creating a challenge coin to honor Kashyap Patel for his service as Chief of Staff to the Secretary of Defense was a rewarding and meaningful project. This role, central to the smooth operation of the Department of Defense, reflects leadership, strategy, and dedication to national security. Designing a coin that captures the essence of this position and Patel's contributions demanded attention to detail and a deep respect for his service. Every element of the coin was chosen to reflect the prestige and significance of this role.


Kashyap Patel's Challenge Coin

The front of the coin is a striking gold round design, featuring the Department of Defense seal in all gold with a color-shielded eagle at its heart. The American eagle, a proud symbol of strength and vigilance, faces to the right with its wings outstretched horizontally. Clutched in its talons are three crossed arrows, representing readiness and defense. Its shield, adorned with alternating red and white stripes and a blue upper field, rests boldly on its chest. Thirteen stars, representing the original colonies, arch gracefully above the eagle, while a laurel wreath to its right and an olive branch to its left signify triumph and peace. The outer ring’s inscription, “Department of Defense” and “United States of America,” frames the design with dignity.

On the reverse side, the centerpiece is the Secretary of Defense flag, depicted in intricate detail against a gold background. The flag’s medium blue field showcases another American bald eagle, its wings expanded and talons gripping three arrows. The shield on its breast is displayed in full color, with four white stars anchoring each corner of the flag. Encircling the gold center is a decorative ring of stars, emphasizing the high honor of this role. A raised blue outer ring features the text, “Chief of Staff to the Secretary of Defense Kashyap P. Patel,” in bold gold lettering, ensuring the coin carries a personal touch.
