Creating a challenge coin to honor Kashyap Patel for his service as Chief of Staff to the Secretary of Defense was a rewarding and meaningful project. Clutched in its talons are three crossed arrows, representing readiness and defense. Its shield, adorned with alternating red and white stripes and a blue upper field, rests boldly on its chest. Thirteen stars, representing the original colonies, arch gracefully above the eagle, while a laurel wreath to its right and an olive branch to its left signify triumph and peace. The outer ring’s inscription, “Department of Defense” and “United States of America,” frames the design with dignity.

The flag’s medium blue field showcases another American bald eagle, its wings expanded and talons gripping three arrows.
